A new golf facility, Acropolis Golf Course, will be launched at Okija, Anambra state, on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Obioma Ogakwu, Acting Manager Acropolis Resort, has announced that the golf facility will help promote tourism and golf adoption in the state.
“We are pleased to have this facility. It will help the state’s hospitality in the state, and grow the adoption of the game in Anambra.
Acropolis ,according to the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), is one of the top golf destinations on the continent.
Acropolis Golf Course, will raise the tourism potentials of the host state and also create jobs for locals who will provide support services. It is one of the few golf courses that is built inside a resort in Nigeria, the only one in the South East.
The golf course comes with some of the most modern facilities and 165-room apartments that offer the most luxurious complement to the beautiful layout of the 42-hectare course.
The launch event will be a golf tournament that will feature some of the best professional golfers from Nigeria and other West African Countries.
Pamela Osanakpo, the communications manager, Acropolis Golf and Resort said, “The inaugural event will attract some of the best professionals we have around and several amateur players from around the country.
Top professional players expected at the event include current Nigeria’s number one ranked player, Francis Epe, Mike Ubi, Oche Odoh, Gift Willy, and Olapade Sunday, among others.
Ogakwu added that provisions have been made for golfers arriving for the event to transit with ease from the nearest airports to the golf course.
“Airport shuttles have been provided for golfers arriving from Anambra and Asaba Airports to the Acropolis.”
