Nnewi Youth Forum Holds Inaugural Meeting

In a remarkable turnaround for the Nnewi Youth Forum, Hon. Ejim Ucheagwu (Bishop) led the forum’s first meeting since assuming the presidency, which signals a fresh start for the organization after a prolonged period of political turmoil. The gathering, held on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Obi Nnewichi in Nnewi North LGA, drew a large crowd, underscoring the renewed enthusiasm and optimism within the forum.

With overwhelming support from the members, Hon. Ejim Ucheagwu wasted no time in setting the tone for his leadership, unveiling series of ambitious agendas and assembling a team of talented Nnewi youths to spearhead various initiatives. Among the attendees were distinguished personalities such as Obi Nnewichi, Obi George Onyekaba, Hon. Obinna Ngonadi, former Anambra State Commissioner for Commerce and Industries, and YPP State Chairman. Also present were former president Hon. Moses Obi, Hon. Onyekwele Udeze, Ide (Sir) Hugo Anosike, and Hon. Echezona Anazodo, Secretary-General of Nzuko Ora Nnewi, alongside numerous youth stakeholders.

The meeting served as a platform to address several key issues, including proposed constitutional amendments, reports from the Nnewi Youth Think Tank Standing Committee, and the constitution of the Nnewi Youth Legal Advisory Council. Additionally, the forum inaugurated the Media/Rebranding Committee, tasked with enhancing the organization’s public image and communication strategies.

The highlight of the event was the official handover from the immediate past executives, led by Hon. Paul Moneke JP, to the newly elected executives under Hon. Ejim Ucheagwu’s leadership. The transition saw the transfer of various assets to the new administration, including an IVM Hummer Bus, the Nnewi Youth Forum’s Mace, a certificate for four shops at Eneta Edo, a modern-day sound system, an SPG 2900 fireman generator, and other financial resources.

Also, As the Nnewi Youth Forum embarks on this new chapter under Hon. Ejim Ucheagwu’s leadership, the entire Nnewi community looks forward to a period of innovation, growth, and unity, driven by the collective efforts of its dynamic and dedicated members, he added.
