Seadogs embarks drainages de-silting in Onitsha

National Association of Seadogs, Onitsha Chapter on Saturday embarked on de-silting of drainage along Awka road by Ogboli Road Inland Town Onitsha, Anambra State.

The de-silting which covered Ogboli road junction to Emmanuel Church Road Onitsha was done in partnership with Onitsha North Transport Agency who assisted in controlling traffic around the project site.

President of the body, Engr Emeka Uwaechia said the exercise was in line
line with NAS Policy on United Nations Sustainable development goals 2024 and policy of the State and Local Government on keeping all drainages clean.

He said, “NAS Onitsha Chapter has taken to be doing this once every month in a bid to align with the policy of the State and Local Government on keeping all drainages in the state open and free for flow of liquid wastes.

Shop owners and residents were marvelled as the area was usually overflown with water, especially during rainfall, causing lots of inconveniences to them.
