Civil Liberties Organization Anambra has joined the government and people of Anambra in celebrating 33years of her creation by former military President Ibrahim Babangida on August 27th 1991.

This is contained in a press statement issued to newsmen with the themed “we need some more” endorsed by Comrades Vincent Ezekwueme and Chi Mbah Chairman and Secretary respectively.

It is existential reality that the State has made tremendous achievements and we commend first civilian governor of the State Late Chief Dr.Pius Ezeife for laying the solid foundation of then new Anambra State and his introduction of think home philosophy that contributed immensely towards socioeconomic and political development of our dear state. We also appreciates former governor Chris Ngige for his rapid roads construction and his doggedness in fight against godfatherism. Also his Excellency Mr.Peter Obi for his reformative and transformative leadership that led to unprecedented development of all sectors of the state economy and prudent and judicious utilization of public funds for public good. We also thanks the incumbent governor for sustaining the foundation laid down by his predecessors and his solid roads construction.

CLO calls on Gov.Soludo to take seriously fraternal patriotic, constructive criticism and discard with great disdain services of sycophants, praise singers and every government in power that tells you what you want to hear rather than want you need to know and do for the betterment of the state.

We commends your relentless efforts in tackling insecurity, but marshal plan are needed to improve security architecture of the state.

Worthy of commendation is his Excellency desire to ensure democratization of Local Government System which is long over due.We reiterate our early appeal to Gov. Soludo and Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission to postpone the election to November to ensure adequate planning, enlightment of electorate and consultations with stakeholders.

There is urgent and immediate need to inculcates civility, decorum, patriotism, respect to human life and dignity in all the government Agencies in the State.
It is an anathema and despicable that Anambra at 33 in a democratic governance the state still witness unprecedented human rights abuses, brutality and man’s inhumanity against man by those supposed to protect and safeguard them.

Recall CLO had draw the attention of Gov Soludo and to brutality meted to Citizen Mrs Nkemakolam Nnamani now incapacitated by State Anti-Touting Squad without any response by the government.

The greatest and best 33 anniversary gifts Anambrarians expect from Professor are to rid the state of insecurity, lawlessness and might is right CLO posited.
