Food shortage: Key into Anambra Agric Revolution – Soludo tells Corps members

Governor of Anambra State , Prof Chukwuma Soludo has called on Corps members deployed to Anambra State to drive his administration’s agricultural revolution aimed at addressing food shortage and promoting local consumption.

Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Hon. Ernest Ezeajughi, at the swearing-in ceremony of 2024 Batch “B” Stream II orientation programme, Soludo emphasized the importance of collective engagement in agriculture to solve food scarcity.

The event, held at Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp, saw 1658 Corps members take the Oath of Allegiance, administered by Hon. Justice N.L. Oyeka, representing the State Chief Judge.

In his address, Chairman NYSC Governing Board, Hon. Patrick Aghamba, represented by Chief Engr. Martin Agbili, urged Corps Members to master the Igbo language to navigate their service year effectively.

State Coordinator, Mrs. Blessing Ekene Iruma, reported a total registration of 1658 Prospective Corps Members, comprising 760 males and 898 females, and emphasized the importance of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development.

The event featured a martial art display by the NYSC Martial Art group and was attended by dignitaries, including Commissioner of Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma Udeh, and Chief Data Chijioke Okechukwu, Chairman, Heads of Federal Establishments in the State.
