The Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Maku Olatunde has sternly cautioned officers and men against participating in illicit activities such as job racketeering, employment scams, and promotion scams, emphasizing that offenders will face dismissal.

He also underscored the significance of maintaining a professional image through proper dress code, attitude, and behaviour, especially during official working hours.

Comdt. Maku Olatunde made this declaration during a muster parade held at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Awka on Tuesday in compliance with a directive from the Commandant General, as he addressed personnel and emphasized the need for enhanced discipline and operational excellence.

He stressed the importance of heightened discipline and exceptional operational performance among personnel serving in the state, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and excellence in their duties.

The State NSCDC boss further urged individuals who falsify their records, author anonymous petitions against the Corps, or refuse transfers to reconsider their actions, as these are considered serious offences while encouraging those on transfer to view it as opportunities for career growth and development, rather than resisting them.

He highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the Commandant General and his management team to address stagnation, promote personnel development, enhance pension benefits, and improve overall welfare packages.

He also conveyed the Federal Government’s appreciation, as expressed by the Commandant General, for the Corps’ professional conduct and exemplary behaviour during recent protests.

In his concluding remarks, Comdt. Maku reminded personnel that the Commandant General has directed all state commands to concentrate on their core responsibilities, specifically: crisis management, safeguarding critical national assets, and protecting infrastructure, while eschewing unhealthy competition with other security agencies and fostering a spirit of collaboration and synergy.
