Founder and Chairman of Nedcomoaks ,one of the biggest real estate companies in Africa, Dr Kennedy Okonkwo will be among the speakers at the upcoming 17th Banking and Finance Conference scheduled for September 10th and 11th, 2024, in Abuja.
 
The event, powered by the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Nigeria (CIBN), is a flagship conference that brings together stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, analysts, political officeholders, banking industry leaders, and the academic community to brainstorm on the economy and set an agenda for its sustainable development.
 
According to the President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Nigeria, CIBN, Prof. Pius Olarenwaju, FCIB, the conference is hosted annually to share experiences and exchange ideas on contemporary issues affecting the banking sector and the economy.
 
The CIBN President stated that the conference ties into one of the institute’s mandates: Capacity Building, which involves equipping banking professionals with the requisite knowledge and skills to navigate the ever-changing Banking and finance landscape.
 
He noted that the conference theme, “Accelerated Economic Growth and Development: The State of Play and Way Forward,” will attract over 12,000 banking and finance professionals worldwide. 
 
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is the special guest of honour, and other distinguished African leaders are expected to attend the event. 
 
Giving further details, the Chairman of the Consultative Committee for the Conference and the Group Chief Executive Officer of United Bank for Africa, Mr Oliver Alawuba, said apart from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, other distinguished African leaders are expected to attend.
 
It will feature a goodwill message by the Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, and intellectually engaging sessions that address critical national issues.

Founder and Chairman, Heirs Holdings, Mr Tony Elumelu will deliver the keynote at the conference while Dr Kennedy Okonkwo will speak as a discussant in one of the sessions.

Dr Kennedy Onyekachi Okonkwo was born into a Christian family on 12 October 1977 in Ojoto, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Kennedy Okonkwo studied Psychology at the University of Ibadan. He has also obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Lagos State University.
He founded Nedcomoaks Ltd, one of the leading real estate companies in Africa. Dr Kennedy Okonkwo is also a philanthropist.
