FG trains Information officers, ICT teachers On School Census

Education Management Information System (EMIS) officers in Anambra State have undergone training by the Federal Ministry of Education.

The one week training conducted by three man team from the Ministry was cascaded to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) teachers in the State.

Speaking at the end of the of the training, the team led by an Assistant Director in the Ministry, Mr. John Okonkwo said the training session was in preparation for the annual school census.

He stressed the need for regular training and retraining of teachers on record keeping to enable them key into the program of the annual school census designed to capture all children in schools.

Also speaking, a member of the team, Mr Philip Dabbas thanked the Government of Anambra State led by Prof Chukwuma Soludo for the passion in education.

He said the team observed impact of the solution governance in the state, just as he appreciated Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, for the hospitality extended to the team.

Reacting, Commissioner Chuma-Udeh thanked the Federal Ministry of Education for availing Anambra the opportunity of keying into the School Census program designed to capture all children in schools.

The Commissioner directed all schools to check the list of schools and use the corresponding school code to enter the portal.

“Using the link, www.nemiserp.com/cas, schools should connect and start inputting the data starting with 2024/25 academic session. This should be followed by the 2023/24 and 2022/23 academic sessions. Schools are expected to complete all entries on/before 13th day of January 2025,” she added.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Anambra State, Dr. Mrs. Ifeoma Agbaizu released a statement that any school that failed to comply would face sanctions.
