Anambra 2025: A second chance for Soludo will be Disastrous – Nwosu

Labour Party governorship aspirant, John Nwosu, has lambasted Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration for its handling of insecurity in Anambra State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Nwosu described the current state of insecurity in Anambra as “topical and extremely dangerous,” noting that it reflects poorly on the state and negatively impacts the quality of life, commerce, and tourism.

Nwosu faulted the Soludo administration for failing to meet its responsibility to protect Anambra citizens and visitors, stating that the government has neither applied soft power nor hard power to address the challenges confronting the state.

He also criticized the administration for failing to consult with stakeholders and partners who could assist in tackling the prevailing problems.

The aspirant specifically mentioned the kidnapping of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, who is still being held hostage, and the recent release of four kidnapped members of the clergy.

Nwosu expressed disappointment that Governor Soludo has not publicly commented on the kidnapped House of Assembly member or liaised with his colleagues to strategize on tackling the issue.

Nwosu emphasized that leadership requires deploying best practices, humility, and seeking expert opinion and assistance when needed.

He argued that the Soludo administration’s failure to address insecurity has eroded efforts to create an enabling environment in the state.

The Labour Party aspirant further criticized the administration’s “cosmetic face-lift” of existing infrastructure, describing it as deceptive and insincere.

He also condemned the government’s approach of ridiculing and attacking those who constructively criticize its governance limitations.

Nwosu maintained that Anambra State is under severe strains and needs urgent fixing, but that Governor Soludo is not the right person to do so, having reneged on his core campaign promise.

He emphasized that a second chance for Soludo would be catastrophic for the state and urged him to step aside and allow those with foresight and good governance principles to remedy the state.
