The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its timetable for the Anambra governorship primary election, detailing key dates for nomination and screening ahead of the poll. In a notice released on Monday, the party’s national organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, announced that the expression of interest and nomination forms would be sold for #50,000,000.00.
According to the schedule, the sale of nomination forms will begin on 19th February 2025 with a deadline of February 26th for submission of forms along with required documents.
The screening of Aspirants is set for 7th and 8th March respectively, while the conducting of the party congresses to elect delegates will be on April 2nd.
However, the party primary election is hereby adjusted to be held on April 5th to determine who flags the party flag.
In line with the Independent National Electoral Commission time table, the campaign activities are scheduled to officially begin on 11th June 2025.
APC has also announced concessions for certain categories of Aspirants. These include all Female Aspirants and persons with disabilities (PWD). They only need to purchase the expression of interest form, while the nomination form is free of charge for them. Also, youths within the ages of 25 to 40 will receive a 50% discount on the nomination form fee.
As of today, the underlisted persons are presently struggling to fly the party’s flag,Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Evang. Nicholas Ukachukwu, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo and Sir Paul Chukwuma, have all declared their intentions to contest the governorship election.
