Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra state, Dr. Chioma Awuzie has pledged to uphold high standards of behavior among staff and students of the institution.

She also promised to enforce strict measures against malpractice, as well ensure funds were utilized efficiently and in accordance with due process.

Outlining her 12-points agenda for transforming the Polytechnic into a hub of technological creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and global competitiveness, the Rector stressed the need for collaboration and teamwork

She identified the key areas to include human resource development, academic reinvention, students’ and staff welfare, discipline, and infrastructural development, among others.

She further reiterated her resolve to vigorously pursue the vision of the institution’s founding fathers, noting that such step would only be possible with unity of purpose and support of stakeholders.

Awuzie, by her appointment would be the second female to hold the position in the Polytechnic, first female rector to be appointed from within the institution.

The event attracted past and present heads of the institution, traditional and religious leaders, politicians, heads of industries, students and other dignitaries.
