BYE-ELECTION: Anambra South Needs APC Senator To Continue Uba’s Legacy~ Says Party Chief Ochiogu

A stalwart of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Aguata, Anambra State, Chief Ochiogu N. I (Ochiagha), has emphasized the need for the people of Anambra South senatorial district to ensure that the next senator to represent the zone emerges from the APC. This, according to him, is to continue the legacy of the late Distinguished Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, who represented the district until his death last year.

Chief Ochiogu made this statement following the official declaration of the Anambra South senatorial seat vacant by the Nigerian Senate during their plenary session. The Senate directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a bye-election to fill the vacant seat. Chief Ochiogu described the demise of the late Distinguished Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as a monumental and irreparable loss for the people of the district.

According to Chief Ochiogu, “It was not until the late Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah became a senator that we realized the immense impact a senator can have, attracting quality projects, empowering youths and women, securing jobs, scholarships for students, and periodic engagement with the people. He even launched a security system to secure Anambra South, which was a resounding success. We had never experienced such exemplary representation in Anambra South, but God knows best.”

Chief Ochiogu urged the people of Anambra South senatorial district to ensure that the replacement of the late Distinguished Senator emerges from the APC, which provided the platform for the late Senator to attract quality projects and people-oriented representation. He called on the APC to present a quality and sellable candidate who can continue the legacy of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

“I implore our people, the good people of Anambra South senatorial district, to ensure that the next senator to replace our late dear senator emerges from the APC, as it was the APC that provided him with the platform and opportunities to attract these dividends of democracy and quality projects to our people. I also urge our great party to present a marketable and qualified candidate who can continue where the distinguished Senator stopped,” he added.
