Technology, Not Agunechemba Will Put a Stop to Insecurity in Anambra — Chukwuma

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) gubernatorial candidate for the November Anambra election, Paul Chukwuma, has described Governor Soludo’s Agụnẹchemba security outfit as rag-tags incapable of addressing the state’s insecurity challenges.

Sir Paul Chukwuma dismissed their acclaimed successes as “a mirage which can not be backed by any evidence.”

The governorship candidate made these disclosure on TVC’s morning show on Saturday while responding to questions about the state’s security situation.

According to him, “Rag-tag security outfits are incapable of securing lives in any society.

” Anambra has gone down this route before, and history has taught us that groups like Agụnẹchemba do not put a stop to crime. Rather, they expand human rights violations and social injustice. The so-called Agụnẹchemba lack the training and skills to stop crime.”

He further criticised the security outfit’s focus:

“Agụnẹchemba has so far focused on media engineering rather than crime fighting. Remember, a few months after they were set up, they regaled us with various stories of crime discoveries across the state, including alleged pits filled with human remains. To date, Agụnẹchemba has not been able to link any suspect to these stories they created. In reality, there is no known criminal Agụnẹchemba has arrested since it was launched with fanfare, nor have they cleared any criminal den. What they are known for is repeated human rights violations.”

Chukwuma emphasised that the foundation of modern crime fighting is technology:

“It is impossible to fight crime without technology. To reduce insecurity in Anambra, we must embrace technology-driven innovations. We need a proper identification database to know who is who in the state. We need CCTV cameras at strategic points and a well-coordinated response team that can act while crimes are ongoing. These teams should be stationed across the state, leveraging technology to coordinate their operations.”

On his motivation for contesting, Chukwuma said:

“Over time, I have come to realise that I possess more functional ideas that can resolve insecurity and improve the standard of living for Ndi Anambra. It is my belief that there is no better person to execute an idea than its owner.”
