Operatives of the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade) have handed over an illegal Chinese miner to the Nigerian Police State Command.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Police command spokesman, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the Anambra State Police Command, through its operatives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka, received the suspected illegal miner on the evening of 22nd August 2025 from OCHA Brigade operatives.
According to the statement, the suspect has been identified as Mu Hua Qiang, a 45-year-old resident of Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area.
The statement further noted that he was arrested for alleged involvement in illegal mining activities within the Aguleri axis.
It also revealed that a voluntary statement has been obtained from the suspect, who is currently in lawful custody pending further investigation.
