A traditionalist ,Mr. Chijioke Okaa Peter has been arrested by security operatives of the Agunachemba group following a petition submitted by Mr. Bonaventure Ezekwenna, a retired U.S. Army officer and human rights activist.

The arrest is believed to be related to the individual’s alleged activities involving the enticement of individuals into a purported religious structure within the Nnobi area of Idemili South Local Government Area. These activities are said to have been conducted with the intent of mediating conflicts or identifying criminal actors.

Several residents of Nnobi, including Mr. Ezekwenna, have accused Mr. Okaa, who is from Awuda village, of exploiting his perceived religious authority to facilitate the unlawful acquisition of land from members of the community.
Mr. Ezekwenna alleges that this practice has victimized numerous individuals in Nnobi.

Ezekwenna ssid that Mr. Okaa used security resources and engaged in questionable practices to prevent individuals from reclaiming property they allege was obtained from them through manipulation related to a religious entity. Ezekwenna further contends that Mr. Okaa has consistently sought to undermine these individuals’ attempts to recover their property, even going so far as to allegedly plan a kidnapping during court proceedings.

During a telephone interview with insideoutnews, Public Relations Officer Comrade Nweke Nweke of the Agunachemba group who confirmed the arrested ,indicated that the action stemmed from a formal petition submitted by Mr. Ezekwenna to the state governor, which was subsequently routed through the Special Adviser on Security, Mr. Ken Emekaig.

Mr. Nweke confirmed that the suspect responded to a formal request for questioning from security operatives as part of an ongoing inquiry into his alleged involvement.

He indicated that the matter remains under preliminary review and will be referred to the relevant authorities for a comprehensive investigation and any necessary follow-up.

Mr. Nweke refrained from providing specific commentary on the petition, stating that additional details will be disclosed as the matter progresses.
