By Ndife David, Awka.

The Managing Director of the Anambra Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA), Engr. Obinna Nduka, has assured Ndi Anambra of intensified rehabilitation of failed road sections across the state in 2026, as the agency deepens efforts to protect and sustain existing road infrastructure.

Engr. Nduka gave the assurance shortly after presenting ARMA’s 2026 estimated budget during the budget defence and bilateral discussions with the Anambra State House of Assembly House Committee on Works, chaired by Hon. Engr. Emma Nwafor, the member representing Orumba South Constituency.

Former Labour Minister, Ngige Clears the Air on N2.2bn Fraud Allegations.

He described the engagement as constructive and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to value-driven road maintenance.

According to the ARMA boss, the 2026 roadmap prioritizes proactive interventions on distressed road segments, stressing that maintenance remains critical to preserving the massive investments already made by the state government in road construction.

He noted that timely rehabilitation would prevent total road failure and reduce long-term costs.

Engr. Nduka further disclosed that ARMA will collaborate closely with Mayors of the 21 local government areas to identify, monitor and promptly fix failed road sections within their jurisdictions, emphasizing that local collaboration is key to effective and sustainable road maintenance.

He, however, charged Anambra residents and visitors, especially during the festive season to desist from actions that damage roads, including burning of tyres, channeling sewage onto road surfaces, and constructing unapproved speed bumps. Such practices, he warned, accelerate road deterioration and undermine public investments.

The ARMA Managing Director extended season’s greetings to Ndi Anambra and reiterated his resolve to align the agency’s operations with the vision of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo in building a livable, prosperous and smart mega homeland, assuring that ARMA will remain focused, responsive and accountable in the year ahead.
