A prominent businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Frank Igbojindu, has urged the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi to immortalise the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the church’s project.
In a statement, Dr. Igbojindu, GMD of Akpoazaa Group, acknowledged the recent dedication of the late Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah at the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, but expressed that more needs to be done to honour his legacy.
“I ordinarily refrain from engaging in church-related matters. However, my personal relationship with the principal benefactor and his exceptional philanthropic commitment makes it necessary to share this perspective in the interest of history and gratitude,” Dr. Igbojindu said.
He revealed that Senator Ubah undertook over 70 percent of the financial and material responsibility for the church project, adding that his support was “not symbolic, but sacrificial, sustained, and inspired by deep faith and love for the Church.”
Dr. Igbojindu believes that immortalising Senator Ubah’s name within the church would be a fitting tribute to his memory and a testament to his faith-driven philanthropy.
“Immortalising his name within the church would not only honour his memory but also stand as a timeless example of faith-driven philanthropy—one capable of encouraging future generations to give selflessly to the work of God,” he stated.
The full statement reads:
“I ordinarily refrain from engaging in church-related matters. However, my personal relationship with the principal benefactor and his exceptional philanthropic commitment makes it necessary to share this perspective in the interest of history and gratitude.
“At the recent dedication of the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, the late Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah was acknowledged. While this gesture is appreciated, it is widely known that he undertook well over 70 percent of the financial and material responsibility that led to the successful completion of the church project.
“His support was not symbolic. It was sacrificial, sustained, and inspired by deep faith and love for the Church. Such rare commitment, in my humble view, deserves a form of recognition that is enduring and inspirational.
“Immortalising his name within the church would not only honour his memory but also stand as a timeless example of faith-driven philanthropy—one capable of encouraging future generations to give selflessly to the work of God.
“This reflection is offered with respect and goodwill, trusting in the wisdom of the Diocese and the conscience of the faithful.
“The question therefore is:
👉 Does late Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah deserve immortalisation by the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi in recognition of his contribution, or do you think the acknowledgment already given is sufficient?
