An oil and gas business development consultant, Gini Chukwuma Williams, has emerged as the Federal House of Representatives candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Idemili North and South federal constituency in Anambra state.
This followed the Anambra ADC federal house of representatives primaries held across the 24 wards in the Idemili North and South LGAs on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Announcing the results of the exercise in Awka, Chairman of the Anambra State ADC Electoral Committee for State House Of Assembly, Federal House of Representatives primaries and returning officer for the exercise, Engr. Emeka Okolo disclosed that Gini Chukwuma Williams polled more than 73% of the total ballots.
He said Williams polled 5,391 votes to beat his closest challenger, Nnamdi Ifebi, who got 1406 votes, and Nnamdi Okoye, who polled 721 votes.
Williams was earlier tipped as the preferred choice of the party leaders and members in the federal constituency, deferring to his deep-rooted commitment towards reenergizing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with the donation of party offices across the 24 wards in Idemili North and South districts in Anambra state.
From Idemili North to Idemili South, in Abacha, Eziowelle, Abatete, Uke, Nkpor I, Oraukwu, Ideani, Ojoto, Awka-Etiti I, Awka-Etiti II, Nnobi I, Nnobi II, Nnobi III, and Nnokwa, field reports show Williams leading comfortably among party members who voted massively for him with his posters in their hands.
All 12 wards in the Idemili North local government returned more than 60% of their votes in favour of Gini Chukwuma Williams, while he also led comfortably across the twelve wards in the Idemili South axis in the federal constituency.
In the Idemili South LGA, Akwukwu, Alor I, Alor II, Awka-Etiti I, Awka-Etiti II, Nnokwa, Oba I, Oba II, and Ojoto stood firmly behind the choice of the Oil and gas business consultant, underscoring his strong support base across the two local government areas in the federal constituency.
The primary exercise, which witnessed a large turnout of party supporters and party stakeholders, saw ADC members and stakeholders conducting themselves in orderly and peaceful manners in the presence of security and INEC officials.
The Federal House of Representatives primaries, involved 3 aspirants contesting for the ADC Federal House of Representatives ticket to represent the good people of Idemili North and South federal constituency.
A statement issued on Saturday by the Gini Williams Campaign Organisation expressed gratitude to his supporters, stakeholders, and overwhelming party faithful for their unwavering support, prayers, encouragement, and belief in the vision of the elected ADC Federal House of Representative candidate, stressing that their support made this victory possible.
The campaign organization assured that Gini Williams remain committed to the progress and unity of the Idemili North and South federal constituency, stressing that the triumph at the primaries is not just a personal victory, but a collective win for everyone who believes in progress, unity, and a better future for the federal constituency.
