The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 13, Mr. Godwin Iguh-Eze, has ordered a thorough investigation into the death of Ndudi Valentine Mmadudilim, a 26-year-old bricklayer who died while in the custody of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Anambra State.
Mmadudilim, an indigene of Ozubulu, was arrested in 2024. However, his family was reportedly kept incommunicado regarding his whereabouts or his demise for nearly two years.
The directive follows an unannounced inspection visit by the AIG to the Awkuzu facility, where he expressed profound dissatisfaction with the handling of the case file and family notification protocols.
AIG Iguh-Eze has officially directed the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, to launch a comprehensive inquiry into both the immediate and remote causes of Mmadudilim’s death, as well as the administrative breakdown in institutional protocol.
