The Alumni Association of Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe is poised to partner the institution to forster progressive development and growth of the over 40 year old education pedestal breeding excellent teachers in Nigeria and beyond.
The laudable intention was revealed at the College on Tuesday June 9,2026 when the Alumni Association Executive Council went into a strategic session with the brand new Provost of the noble College Prof Victor Ndirika and his management team.
The pioneer National President of the Alumni Association, Prince Emeka Ernest Oramadike, a 1987 Accounts/Economics graduate of the College who led a team of his Executive Council, maintained with nostalgia, the Alumni Association’s narrative of the institution as an Alma Mater remains a tall tale of fun and positive influence nurtured by detailed training and dedicated teaching by the lectures and College administrators.
Prince Oramadike extolled the virtues of the College saying that the school remains the bedrock and foundation of who those that passed through it are in life.
The Alumni National President and his Executive Council members who were visibly impressed with the infrastructural growth in the College, appreciated the Governor of Anambra State Prof Chukwuma Soludo for the road infrastructure turn around in the school where he was once an Economics lecturer in the mid 80s.
To increase the population of the Alumni Association, Prince Emeka requested for the cooperation of the College Management in putting effective system in place that will enable students register with the Association upon graduation.
Recalling the social life of the students in the good old years of the 80s, Emeka Oramadike suggested that the social life of the present day students of the College be energized to enable the College also pass through the students in their years of passing through the school.
The Provost of the College Engr. Prof Victor Ndirika while receiving the Alumni delegation assured the team that one of his major priorities is to drive the College to the exalted status of a full University and that he has started putting strategies and programs in place to realize the dream.
He further expressed interest in collaborating with the Alumni and other stakeholders in harnessing the potentials and opportunities available in the College.
Prof Ndirika revealed that presently, the College has agro-based ventures in the areas of poultry, pigry, goatry, fishery and surplus hectres of fertile land for crop cultivation expressing the willingness of the College to partner investors in such business areas.
Having identified the Alumni Association as a major stakeholder, the Provost beckoned on the Association to always feel free to identify with the College in all trajectories of development.
In his contribution, the National Legal Adviser of the Alumni Association, Barrister Nnadiume Awforkansi identified the need for the College to assist in harmonizing the dichotomy prevailing between NCE and Degree programme graduands in the College in membership of the Alumni Association.
In a Vote of thanks, the Bursar of the College, Tony Aniebo expressed optimism that the partnership with the Alumni would no doubt provide avenue and enablement to move the school forward with a promise that management would employ available administrative machinery to enhance contact and mobilization of graduates of the College into the Alumni membership.
Other College Management team include the Acting College Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Chioma Azubuike, the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Edith Nwoye and the Deputy Director Works, Engr. Nnamdi Onyili, while the National President of the Alumni Association was flanked by the National Vice Presidents 1 and 2, UBAKA onwuanibe and Ozo Hon Emma Onoh respectively among other officials present.
