The De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF) has invested over N400 million in the construction and donation of classroom blocks across the five South-East states as part of its commitment to improving access to quality education and promoting community development.
The classroom projects, located in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states, were fully funded and donated by the philanthropic organisation to provide pupils with a more conducive learning environment.
The organisation also supported over 1,000 students through DIPF scholarships with ₦50 million committed to top JAMB performers in Southeast Nigeria.
The intervention is in line with the organisation’s vision of improving the economic, educational, health, work and social well-being of beneficiaries through the commitment of its members.
DIPF said its mission is to promote the socio-economic development of South-Eastern Nigeria through impactful initiatives and targeted empowerment programmes, guided by its motto, “Living for Humanity.”
Speaking on the intervention, President of the De Imperial Philanthropic Family, High Chief Darlington Nwabunike, said the organisation’s investment in education reflects its belief that the future of any society depends on the quality of learning available to its children.
“Education remains the greatest investment in the future of our people. We are proud to have committed over N400 million to the construction and donation of classroom blocks across the five South-East states because every child deserves a safe and conducive environment to learn. This is our own contribution to human capital development and the future of Igboland,” Nwabunike said.
He noted that the classroom projects are only one of several humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the organisation over the years.
According to him, the De Imperial Philanthropic Family has awarded scholarships worth more than N1.5 billion to students across Igboland, enabling many young people to pursue their education without financial constraints.
Nwabunike added that the organisation has also settled hospital bills for indigent patients, purchased Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration forms for students from less privileged backgrounds, and rewarded outstanding JAMB candidates to encourage academic excellence.
“Our commitment goes beyond building classrooms. We have invested over N1.5 billion in scholarships, paid hospital bills for those in need, sponsored JAMB registration for students from disadvantaged families and rewarded top-performing candidates. We will continue to invest in programmes that uplift our people and complement government efforts in education and social development,” he said.
He called on individuals, corporate organisations and other stakeholders to support initiatives that promote education, healthcare and community development, stressing that collective efforts are needed to build a more prosperous society.
The De Imperial Philanthropic Family has continued to expand its humanitarian footprint across the South-East through projects aimed at improving education, healthcare and the welfare of vulnerable groups, with the latest classroom projects representing one of its largest infrastructure investments in the region.
