In an emotional and revealing interview, Rev. Fr. Ikezure Jeremiah shared the remarkable story behind his Eucharistic ministry, recounting years of hardship, family affliction, and how an encounter with Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Fr. Ebube Muonso) transformed his life and inspired his mission of family liberation.
The Catholic priest disclosed that his ministry, now in its fifth year, was born out of personal suffering and unwavering trust in God.
“The ministry started five years ago, not by my power nor by my might, but by the Spirit of God, as written in Zechariah 4:6,” he said.
According to Fr. Jeremiah, his years in the seminary were filled with painful trials, but God’s sustaining grace enabled him to fulfil his priestly vocation.
During those difficult moments, he made a covenant with God never to take prayer lightly and to dedicate his priesthood to helping families trapped in spiritual and demonic oppression.
Family Plagued by Tragedy!
Fr. Jeremiah recounted a heartbreaking chapter of his family history. He revealed that his mother suffered a stroke and lost her speech for about eight years before her death. His father later developed the same illness, while his elder brother also became sick and eventually died.
As the family battled these tragedies, some relatives allegedly encouraged them to seek traditional spiritual remedies, insisting that an ancestral idol was responsible for their problems.
However, his father rejected those suggestions and chose to remain steadfast in the Christian faith despite mounting pressure.
How Fr. Ebube Muonso Changed Everything!
The priest described a turning point that came during one of Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma’s crusades in Orlu.
His parish priest introduced him to Fr. Ebube Muonso, who prayed fervently for him and assured him with words that would forever remain in his heart.
“My son, don’t worry. Weep no more. My God will fight your battle.”
Inspired by the prayers for family liberation, Fr. Jeremiah returned home with renewed faith. He narrated how he confronted activities surrounding what he believed to be a family shrine and destroyed it after discovering preparations for traditional rituals concerning his family.
According to him, that bold action marked the beginning of his family’s liberation.
“God used Rev. Fr. Ebube Muonso to liberate my family through his ministration. The God of Rev. Fr. Ebube Muonso is indeed real,” he declared.
Why He Founded His Own Ministry!
Explaining what inspired his ministry, Fr. Jeremiah said his vision is to provide a platform where people can encounter God’s power and experience genuine spiritual transformation.
He stressed that his calling is centred on family liberation, healing, prayer and helping people overcome spiritual battles through faith in Christ.
“Why He Finally Joined Social Media”
Although his ministry had existed for years, Fr. Jeremiah remained absent from social media until recently.
He explained that his decision was never driven by popularity or personal interest.
“I see social media as a means of spreading the Gospel to people across the world,” he said, adding that the opportunity and platform only became available in recent years.
Present Assignment
Apart from coordinating his ministry at St. Francis Parish, Abagana, Fr. Jeremiah disclosed that he currently serves as a priest in residence while also managing one of the parish’s filling stations as part of his official responsibilities.
Future of the Ministry
When asked where he sees his ministry in the coming years, the priest declined to make ambitious predictions.
Instead, he emphasised that he is allowing God to direct every step.
“We are following the Spirit of God. This is a season of training. My concern is building myself and helping people know God,” he stated.
Message to the Youth
Addressing the growing scepticism among young people who doubt God’s existence and power, Fr. Jeremiah attributed the problem to a lack of spiritual knowledge and weak foundations.
He urged young people to return to God, embrace prayer, and pursue holiness.
“Let’s go back to God. Our God is the God of another chance. When you come close to Him, He will come closer to you. Holiness remains the number one key to receiving God’s help,” he advised.
A Life Dedicated to Family Liberation
From surviving painful family trials to answering the call to priesthood, Rev. Fr. Ikezure Jeremiah believes every experience has prepared him for his divine assignment.
His testimony, he says, is proof that faith, prayer and complete trust in God can overcome even the darkest seasons of life.
