The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has consolidated support in Nnewi ahead of next week’s local government election in Anambra State. The candidate of APGA and the incumbent Executive Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, during a unity political rally on Saturday, received commendation from traditional rulers, President General of Nnewi, Prince Jude Osumuoh, presidents general of the four quarters of Nnewi, party leaders and other stakeholders who affirmed their support for APGA. Speaking, Hon. Echezona Anazodo thanked the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, and outlined the major developmental strides commenced in Nnewi by Governor Soludo.
Hon. Anazodo, who commenced the unity tour from Nnewichi community, received the blessing and unrestrained support from Obi Nnewichi, Obi George Onyekaba. According to Obi Onyekaba, Hon. Echezona Anazodo has distinguished himself in public service since he was elected the local government chairman of Nnewi North. Commending the Chairman, Obi George Onyekaba said Hon. Echezona Anazodo has done well and expressed confidence that he will do even better in the next two years. In consequence, Obi Onyekaba christened Hon. Anazodo “Ifechukwukwulu,” saying he was destined for the job.
The tour continued to Uruagu, where Hon. Echezona Anazodo was received with his team by Obi Uruagu, Obi Afam Obi, who also commended the Chairman and gave his blessing, as well as called for support for APGA. In Umudim, Hon. Anazodo was similarly received by Obi Umudim, Obi Benneth Okafor, who also gave his blessings. The tour proceeded to the Palace of Igwe KON Orizu III, Igwe Nnewi, where Hon. Echezona was received by Igwe Nnewi, who gave his blessing and wished him and his team all the best.
The tour, however, terminated at the home of Chief Cletus Ibeto, who received APGA faithful and other supporters with open arms, urging them to continue to support APGA and Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo. According to Chief Ibeto, the more support APGA and Governor Soludo gain from Nnewi, the better for the people. He also assured of his continued support and partnership in ensuring that Nnewi continues to move forward. Reacting, the Executive Chairman of Nnewi North LGA, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, thanked Chief Cletus Ibeto, calling him a champion of Governor Soludo’s Public-Private Community Partnership (PPCP) in Nnewi and urged other capable Nnewi indigenes to key into the PPCP development model of Governor Soludo.
The tour was joined by Hon. Amala Anazodo, former member of Anambra State House of Assembly and member of the APGA National Working Committee; Chijioke Ojukwu, Esq, Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development; Ebuka Onyekwelu, Ph.D, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media; Dr. Amobi Chikwendu, former local government chairman in Nnewi; and many other stakeholders.
