The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, has condoled with the family of the schoolboy who drowned in a flood at Nibo near Awka a few days ago, after their school bus was overturned by a flash flood while the kids were being transported to school in Awka. The deceased, late Success Ezenwafor, could not be rescued by a team of emergency responders led by the Awka South Chairman, Prince Chinedu Okafor. However, his body was later recovered. Speaking during the Nigeria at 66 thanksgiving outing at the Cathedral of St. Faith in Awka, Anambra State, Governor Soludo condoled with Ezenwafor family, describing the incident as unfortunate.
Also, Governor Soludo took the time to give assurance to Ndi Anambra that his administration is focused on delivering quality leadership in all facets and across all sectors of the Anambra State Government. Addressing recent concerns over flash floods in different parts of Anambra State, Professor Soludo called for collective action to protect Anambra’s environment. He also called for collective responsibility to make Nigeria a true reflection of the dreams and aspirations of Nigerians.
During the thanksgiving outing, Governor Soludo was joined by his wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezi, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somto Udeze, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, as well as several members of the executive, legislature, and the judicial arm of the Anambra State Government.
