Anambra State has once again made a powerful statement on the national education stage, recording a remarkable performance at the 2026 President’s Teachers’ and Schools’ Excellence Awards with nine national honours, eight of them won outright in their respective categories.
The state emerged overall best in Public Primary School Administrator, Best Public Junior Secondary School Administrator, Best Private Junior Secondary School Teacher, Best Public Primary School Teacher, Best Private Junior Secondary School, Best Private Senior Secondary School, Best Private Junior Secondary School Administrator and Best Private Primary School, while also securing 1st Runner-Up in the Best Public Secondary School Teacher category.
Anambra State carted away nine out of the 18 awards, an impressive feat that further underscores the state’s outstanding performance.
Among the trailblazing winners is Mrs. Gloria Nkolika Odionu of Awada Primary School 4, Obosi, who clinched the prestigious Overall Best Public Primary School Administrator in Nigeria award, a feat that came with a Jetour black Jeep as the prize.
Also flying the Anambra flag high, Mrs. Agatha Chika Ofojindu of Urban Boys Secondary School,Onitsha emerged as Best Public Junior Secondary School Administrator in Nigeria, adding another national honour to the state’s impressive haul. Her accomplishment came with a tricycle (keke) as the prize.
The feat cuts across teachers, school administrators and schools, highlighting the breadth of recognition earned by Anambra’s education sector at the national level.
With the impressive showing, Anambra also carted away a Jetour black Jeep, a tricycle, deep freezers and laptops as prizes associated with the various awards.
The remarkable outing further underscores the state’s growing profile in national education excellence, with teachers, administrators and schools collectively putting Anambra in the national spotlight.
