The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the ruling party in Anambra State, is set to flag-off campaign for the 2027 election season. The flag-off taking place at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Friday, is expected to attract thousands of party faithful, enthusiasts and supporters in Anambra State and beyond.
Last Sunday, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, who is also the National Leader of APGA and coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra State, convened a four-party coalition for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in January 2027, marking a significant milestone in President Tinubu’s re-election mobilization in the Southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
APGA’s campaign flag-off today is similarly significant as the build-up to the 2027 election takes the centre stage, amidst darts from the opposition. The rally is expected to demonstrate APGA’s dominance of the Anambra political space, as well as the party’s strategic choice to remain aligned to the centre. APGA leaders, candidates and members are expected to grace the event from across Anambra State and beyond.
The APGA campaign flag-off today, will speak to the party’s capability to retain its dominant position in Anambra’s politics with the National and State Assembly elections in January and February 2027, as well as the party’s national relevance through partnership with the government and the party at the centre, with support for President Tinubu’s re-election.
