The National President, Igbo Youths for Positive Change, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, has declared that Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has successfully waged a justified ‘war’ against hoodlums masquerading as unknown gunmen in the state, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.
Obigwe, in a statement released in Awka, commended the governor for matching his words with action and recalled that the governor had before now appealed to all armed groups terrorizing Anambra State to surrender their weapons, come out of the bush and change from their evil ways but they refused to heed his wise counsel.
He expressed optimism that the operation launched against the criminals on the directive of the governor is yielding fruitful results as the hideouts earlier used by the gunmen to perpetrate their evil acts are no longer safe for them.
“Governor Soludo gave ndi Anambra the assurance that the Egyptians they see today they shall see them no more. From Ukpor in Nnewi South to Orsumoghu, Lilu in Ihiala to Ogbaru to Aguata and all the communities in our state being used by the terrorists masquerading as unknown gunmen are no safer for them,” Obigwe stated.
“They are now paying the price of the heinous crime they are committing in our state and that serves them right. The war against them is not stopping anytime soon because Governor Soludo vowed to ensure that nobody among them is spared. The Governor knows very well that security is the bedrock of sustainable development hence his reason for vowing not to spare the terrorist masquerading to be unknown gunmen.”
Obigwe expressed delight that for some weeks now, news of killings by unknown gunmen in Anambra has died down rather what is being heard now has been incidents of how the heartless unknown gunmen are now paying for their crimes.
“The mission of Governor Soludo is to turn Anambra to a liveable and prosperous homeland and nothing will stop him from actualising this mission. Our beloved Governor Soludo always tells us that his reason for not complaining about the challenges confronting our State is because he applied for the job and we deemed it necessary to employ him.
“As far as he is concerned, ndi Anambra employed him to bring whatever challenges facing them to an end and that is what we are witnessing in our State under his administration watch. He is tackling all the challenges confronting our State simultaneously. . Recently an outbreak of the dreaded monkey pox disease was reported in our State but Governor Soludo through the Ministry of health arrested the situation. He is running a responsive administration and also touching all sectors of governance and promised ndi Anambra that immediately after the rain, he will start construction work on 220km of roads spread across the State.
“Truly, Governor Soludo is justifying the confidence reposed on him by Anambra electorates in such a way that they are not regretting voting for him on the last November 6th governorship election. Someone like me is not surprised because, during the November 6th governorship electioneering campaign, I was shouting it loudly that Governor Soludo is the best among all those contesting the election with him and that a vote for him will not end in regret.
“For me then, it is Soludo or nothing. Am happy about my support for Governor Soludo and I know also that the electorates that voted for him are also proud of their support for him. We have all seen that we did not make mistake in voting for Governor Soludo on November 6th 2021. To God be the glory that the menace of the terrorist masquerading to be unknown gunmen in Anambra is coming to an end. More grease to the elbow of Governor Soludo and our security personnel because they are living up to our expectations,” he said.
