The Anambra FA Football complex in Udoka estate Awka was the Cynosure of all eyes as big name and big time players as far as football is concerned were present to witness the new Anambra FA Chairman, Mr Chikelue Iloenyoesi assume office officially, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.
The Chairman laid down the marker by arriving earlier than some FA staff. He was taken around the complex by the former acting Chairman, Victor Aniekwena, state FA secretary Chijioke Onyedika and Mrs Cordelia Akunna.
After the official complex tour, the Chairman and his board members entered into a closed door meeting that lasted for about an hour after which a Congress meeting started and the new chairman was officially introduced to the Congress men and other major stakeholders amid rapturous welcome and standing ovation.
The General then spoke eloquently and assuring. He commended everyone for coming around in the shortest of notice and asked all to work towards the same goal.
”The time for politics is over. It is time for development of football at grassroot in our state. I understand many have been aggrieved in the time past. I have started extending the olive branch, we can’t continue to live in the past that will spoil our present and hurt our future. I beckon on all sports loving individuals within and outside our state to come together and support us to make football great again in our state.”
The First Former Professional Footballer to become FA Chairman in Anambra state was then taken to the new stadium where he did facility inspection. The FA secretary showed him the proposed land as provided by the state government within the Awka City Stadium to build a befitting FA complex.
The LFC Chairmen led by Prince Michael Mbazue (JIMBAZ) who doubles as Chairman Club Owners Anambra state, Obosi United owner Chief Uzo Epundu, the transition chairman of Ekwusigo LGA Hon. Ofordeme Ikenna, PA to the former Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Ifeanyi Ojukwu were among top stakeholders that witnessed the new Dawn.
