EFAC Nigeria Holds National Convention In Awka

Christians have been called upon to be steadfast in their faith in Jesus Christ and wake to their responsibility of winning souls for the kingdom of God.

The Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba who is the EFAC Nigeria Grand Patron made the call during the group’s national convention ongoing at Paul’s University premises in Awka.

The Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion, EFAC Nigeria, is a body under the Anglican Communion established in 1978 with sole objective of propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ across the globe.

The Primate represented by the Archbishop Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim while describing EFAC as a group that is established for the propose of propagation of the gospel of Christ, Urges Christians to rise to the occasion to save more souls.

Also epeaking, the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese and National Chairman Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion, EFAC Nigeria, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor explained that the annual national convention of the group is a medium through which God through His ministers reawakens Christians especially the EFAC members to their heavenly mandate of soul winning.

Bishop Ezeofor used the opportunity to call on the federal government and ASSU to consider the plights of students and the country in general in their decision to continue the strike.

In separate teachings, Venerable Israel Odika, and Venerable Aloysius Agbo who respectively spoke on “The Kingdom Mandate”, and ” The Mission Field”, reminded Christians of the need for daily renewal of their covenant and relationship with God, reminding them that preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ is a must for every true believer and disciple of Christ.

The Awka Diocese Zonal Coordinator EFAC, Mr Michael Mmadumelu, Chaplain EFAC Awka Zone, Venerable David Ezeobi, and Chairman Local Organizing Committee for the event, Brother Sunday Obineme, in separate interviews thanked God for His presence and massive turn up of people in this year’s programme which they described as unique and encouraged the participants to replicate the life of Christ in their various areas after the convention.

The former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi during the event which attracted thousands of EFAC members and Bishops from across Nigeria, called on Christians to continue to pray for Nigeria especially in this critical time of hardship and insecurity, even as he urged all Nigerians to vote their conscience during the next year’s elections, and not religion, tribe or creed.
