It was a thing of joy and happiness as the frontline Senatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, for Anambra Central senatorial zone, High Chief Dr. Chinedu Anthony Umeadi (Agunechemba nke mbu na Abagana) paid a Consultation visit to his kindred, Adagbe, Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area on Sunday, 11th September, 2022, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports. In his entourage were his Campaign Director General, Ichie Hon. Peter Ozumba, among others.
Speaking at the occasion, the DG, Dr Chinedu Umeadi Campaign Organization (DCUCO), Hon.Peter Ozumba, (Ichie Agu 1 of Ukpo Kingdom, the PeeRock) reminded the people of Adagbe , Abagana, who are also the kiths and kins of Dr. Umeadi, that Dr Umeadi is not only the son of the soil, an insider but their own blood. According to Ichie Ozumba, the visit became necessary so that their son, Dr. Umeadi, could intimate them of his willingness and readiness to represent, not just them, but the entire Anambra Central in the senate as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come February 25th 2023 elections.
Buttressing Ichie Agu’s statements, High Chief Dr. Chinedu Umeadi, told his people that he has come home to them in order to inform them, first hand, of his intention as well as receive their blessings and support. He could not hide his wild excitement and joy at the meeting with his kiths and kins, many of whom he was meeting after a long period of his sojourn overseas in his pursuit of greener pastures. He promised not to let them down as his representation shall be with a difference considering his wealth of knowledge and experience both at home and in the diaspora. According to him, enwe m ife ag’eji welu gbagbu adaka! He therefore solicited for their prayers, support and help to enable him succeed.
In his response, Mr Emeka Okonkwo welcomed Dr Umeadi home to his people. He pleaded with his kindred to support their son, High Chief Dr. Chinedu Umeadi in his bid to represent them at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly. In his words, ‘ Nke a bu nke anyi’!
Speaking in the same vain, Mrs. Elizabeth Okoye, with a song of praise welcomed Dr. Umeadi for first consulting them to make his intention known to them.
Hon. Onyeka Okpaneje, speaking on behalf of Adagbe Abagana Youths, said that Dr. Umeadi has taken a bold step by first coming to notify them of his ambition. He therefore charged his fellow youths to mobilise force in support of their youthful brother.
Many of their elders and youths showered prayers of blessings and divine help upon Dr. Umeadi.
In his vote of thanks, Hon Onyeka Okpaneje, for and on behalf of Ndi Adagbe Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area appreciated Dr Chinedu Umeadi and pledged their full support.
