Anambra is a peculiar State blessed by God in all ramifications. Anambra is so great that you immediately feel the spirit of its greatness once you step into the state.
In size, it is the second smallest State after Lagos, measuring only 4,844sq kilometres, while Lagos State is 3,577km². Yet, Anambra is blessed and great!
It has the enviable record of having so many “firsts” in the history of South Eastern Region and Nigeria as a whole.
Anambra is the home of most of the foremost political icons that founded Nigeria like Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first president of Nigeria and foremost nationalist. Other great minds include; Chief Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Dr Alex Ekwueme, Chief Nwafor Orizu, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Chinua Achebe, Godian Ezekwe, Dora Akunyili, Chimamanda Adichie, Chukwuemeka Ike and many more outstanding personalities.
Anambra is rich in natural gas, crude oil, bauxite and ceramic. It has almost 100 percent arable soil. It has many resources in terms of agro-based activities such as fisheries and farming materials as well as land cultivated for pasturing and animal husbandry.
Anambra has the lowest poverty rate in Nigeria because of the industrious nature of the average Ndi-Anambra. The people naturally detest laziness, sluggishness and truancy.
That is why in business Anambra has no rival in Nigeria. Even outside Nigeria, Ndi-Anambra are continously breaking new grounds in business and other human endeavours.
Anambra has the largest number of Billionaires in Nigeria. It also has the highest number of millionaires per capita anywhere in Nigeria. The people of Anambra State have the largest investments across Nigeria and are the most migratory tribe within Nigeria and across the globe.
In commerce and trade, apart from Onitsha main market, which is Africa greatest single market, the rest of Anambra is an open commercial arcade. The people believe so much in themselves. Everyone is engaged in one productive activity or the other. Everywhere is a market, hence it is the state with the highest per capital asset base in the entire country.
This is who we are as Ndi-Anambra. A people so immensely blessed by God. This is what some criminal elements are trying to destroy with the sit-at-home madness. Because Anambra is the envy of others.
This is why all our brothers who are still involved in these criminal activities must heed Governor Soludo’s Easter message to retrace their steps and surrender their guns by accepting the olive branch offered by government.
Anambra State will never yield or cede our homeland to criminals as Governor Soludo has warned.
We must, therefore, collectively resist these criminal elements by joining hands with Governor Soludo to put Anambra State back on the trajectory of growth, peace and development.
