Gunmen allegedly stole four newborn babies during an early Thursday raid on a hospital at Nkpologwu, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.
They also allegedly took all the blood-stained wrappers and clothing from the women who delivered.
The hospital (names withheld) is located in Anambra State’s Aguata Local Government Area.
Residents expressed concern that the incident could have been staged for ritualistic purposes.
According to a source, the gunmen did not kill anyone or burn down any police stations, but instead fled with the babies.
“They didn’t shoot as usual but they drove to the hospital early morning, took the newly born babies and blood-stained clothes and drove off.
“We were told that they threatened to kill anybody who opened his or her mouth in that hospital. Everybody is living in fears now in Anambra,” the source said.
