It was a roll call of who is who in igboland as the famous Uba family of Isuofia in Aguata local government area, bid their matriarch, Late Ezinne Paulina Uzoejinwa Uba farewell, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.
Labour party presidential candidate and former Governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi graced the burial event with members of his family including his wife Margaret and siblings to pay last respect to the step mother of his best friend of 50 years Benji Uba, a business man and transport magnate.
Peter’s friendship with Benji dates back to their Sancta Maria primary school days in Onitsha ,which would later continue at CKC and even today.
A guest at the event said he was shocked that despite Obi’s busy schedule,he was still able to make plans to attend the burial ceremony with members of his family as it is done in Igboland,to show solidarity to his friend in time of bereavement.
He said that such gesture confirms Peter’s humility as many in his shoes would send representative, this is not minding the fact that he was there in December to discuss with stakeholders in the local government.
