The people of Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra state will soon heave a sigh of relief as one of their illustrious sons and the CEO, Diamond Leeds Ltd, High Chief Kenneth Ifekudu (Agbalanze Onyekachukwu na Ozubulu) flags off four massive infrastructural developments in the community.
At the official flag-off ceremony at the weekend, members of the community trooped out in their large numbers as they danced, merry and sang praises of Chief Agbalanze for the new look of the community expected to be seen in coming days.
The four major projects include, construction of Obialigbo lock-up shops, erosion control in most affected parts of the community, road construction in Eziora Ozubulu and lighting up of Ozubulu villages with all-in-one solar-powered street lights.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Ifekudu said the projects is one of the ways to appreciate his community that gave birth to him and raised him to the level he has come in life.
According to him, the community has been subjected to several infrastructural challenges despite its commercial viability, noting that the projects are targeted at bringing relief to the people Ozubulu.
He said contractors have been mobilised to sight and that the projects will be completed in record time.
The traditional ruler of the community, the Eze Ugo di Obi Ozubulu, HRM Igwe Nnamdi Oruche expressed gratitude to High Chief Ifekudu for the massive projects and pray God to guide and provide for him till the completion.
He urged other illustrious sons of the community to take a cue from what Ifekudu has done and allow their wealth to have an impact in the community in the spirit of aku ru ulo (home return of wealth) for the benefit of the people.
Among those present at the official flag-off of the projects include community leaders, women groups, members of Ozubulu community association and more.
