Sir Mallinson Ukatu is a Serial entrepreneur, regarded as a risk-taker who is committed to developing and diversifying the Nigerian economy. He was born in Onitsha, Anambra State, on Friday, May 8, 1964.
The well respected industrialist holds a philosophy degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an MBA from Crawford University in Ogun State. Additionally, he has successfully finished numerous degree programs at Lagos Business School in strategic management and entrepreneur management.

Ukatu Started out as a retailer with Mallinson and Partners ltd, but would later diversified into other businesses. He has held directorship positions with several companies
His NISPO Porcelain Company Ltd with headquarters in Ogun State, is credited with founding the first indigenous floor tile and PVC manufacturing company in Nigeria. Afam also owns a company that manufactures sanitary ware, plastics and other plumbing components.
The Mallinson Group, owned by Ukatu, is active in a number of sectors, including oil and gas, the manufacture of plastic and pharmaceutical products, building supplies, construction, trade, mining, tourism, real estate, insurance, and banking. He has been named 2019, Sun Newspaper industrialist of the Year.
He was also recognized as the Silverbird Man of the Year in 2018. The serial entrepreneur has equally received award as Anambra Businessman of the year in 2020
