The government of Anambra State has warned residents against heeding to unlawful calls for sit at home in any part of the state.

Anambra and 4 other states that make up the South East region have been in the news for cases of destruction of life and property following periodic sit at home orders being issued in the area by non-state actors.

Sequel to this development, the state government has issued a statement calling on the good people of the state to disregard any of such others issued by unauthorised individuals or groups, noting that the state government will never yield to such directives for any reason whatsoever.

The governor who made this known through his Chief Press Secretary Mr Christian Aburime in a statement noted the negative impacts of such orders which he described as counterproductive and inimical to effective development of the state.
