The Anambra State Police Command has arraigned two suspects over the murder of an Onitsha-based businessman, late Mr. Ikechukwu Simon Nwite, and the theft of his money.

The two suspects, Chiemerie Anieke and Godwin Nnabuike Nwokporo, were arraigned before the High Court in Onitsha on 18 March 2026.

Chiemerie Anieke, the prime suspect, allegedly used a pestle to strike his master, Mr. Ikechukwu Nwite, on the head, resulting in his death.

The suspect was also linked to an attack on one Ogechukwu Nwite in Fegge, Onitsha.

Godwin Nnabuike Nwokporo allegedly aided the commission of the crime by providing a bank account through which over Eight Million Naira (₦8,000,000) belonging to the late Nwite was fraudulently transferred.
