In continuation of the strategic engagement with key stakeholders for the upcoming Population and Housing Census, the Chairman of the National Population Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, fnsa and his team, today 10th August 2023 paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja at the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit was to acquaint the new COAS with the level of preparations for the forthcoming Census and solicit the support of the Nigerian Army in providing security cover for the field functionaries and materials during the census exercise.
The Chief of the Army Staff expressed the readiness of the Nigerian Army to support the Commission in its effort to conduct the first digital census in Nigeria and seeks collaboration with the NPC in other areas of interest beyond census.
