AWKA- Civil Liberties Organization CLO Anambra State Branch has made passionate and patriotic appeal to Governor Charles Soludo to ensure in words,deeds and actions judicious and transparent disbursement of Anambra State share of Federal Government Palliatives to various states of the federation and FCT to cushion and ameliorates adverse effects of fuel subsidy removal.
It will be recall that Tinubu administration has allocated #5 billion,100,000 bags of rice,40000 bags of grains and fertilizers to every state and FCT.
In a press statement issued to newsmen tagged “let the palliatives reach the targeted citizens” urges Anambra State government and governor to ensure actualization of good intentions of FG by ensuring prudent, patriotic, selfless and transparent disbursement of the palliatives.
Government should constitutes Committee of men and women of impeccable character and integrity to be saddled with the responsibility of transparently sharing the palliatives to the targeted beneficiaries and citizens.
Members of the committee should constitutes of Civil Society Organizations, Religious and Traditional leaders.
It is of prime importance to note that for us to get it right and do the right thing the political class should not be included in the Committee to avoid using the palliatives for political patronage and compensation of political loyalists, praise singers, every government in power and hangers on.
The palliatives is for all citizens and residents of Anambra State irrespective of political parties, religion, ethnicity and clans cleavages.
We will monitor,observe and ensure that justice is done to all and sundry in disbursement of subsidy removal palliatives.
We will not tolerate what happened during COVID 19 palliatives in which hoarding and abuses became order of the day CLO posited.
We equally commends and extols Gov.Soludo for the palliatives he has rolled out for the people of the state but more emphasis should be lay in ensuring strict, prudent and transparent disbursement and Implementations of various policies and programs to cushion and ameliorates devastating effects of fuel subsidy removal.
Anambrarians are desirous of overarching benevolent servant leaders ready to provides adequate democratic dividends, wellbeing and social welfare of citizens.
