Mr. Izuchukwu Moses Okafor, a dynamic financial administrator whose career exemplifies excellence, integrity, and service.
Born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and raised in Anambra, Mr. Okafor has built an illustrious career in financial management, risk assessment, and strategic leadership. He holds a B.Sc. in Accountancy from the University of Abuja, an M.Sc. in Accountancy from the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He is also a proud member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
His professional journey spans over a decade at the Central Bank of Nigeria, where he rose through the ranks from Senior Supervisor to Manager of Financial Audit. In government service, he distinguished himself as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Finance and Audit, before being appointed by Mr. Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR, as the Commissioner for Finance, Anambra State in October 2023.
In this role, Mr. Okafor has influenced fiscal policy, strengthened internal revenue systems, and provided strategic direction to agencies supporting small businesses. His leadership continues to shape the financial future of Anambra State. This and more has earned him a re-appointment into same role by Governor Soludo in this second term.
Beyond his professional achievements, he is a devoted husband and a proud father of four. His life reflects a balance of family, faith, and public service. He hails from Isuofia, Aguata LGA of Anambra State.
