From Mokwugwo Solomon, Awka

House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo federal constituency in the February 25, 2023, Hon. Uchenna Elodimuo, has said he would likely appeal the judgement of the national assembly elections petitions tribunal that ordered a re-run in eight polling units in Nnewi North local government area of Anambra state.

Hon. Elodimuo, while speaking to newsmen recently in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo LGA of the state, during a maiden edition of his medical outreach, said that the mandate was handed over to him willingly by his, and therefore, cannot be stollen in whatever guise.

The national assembly elections petitions tribunals sitting in Awka, the Anambra state capital, in its recent rulling in a petition brought before it by candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Amb. Peter Uzokwe, ordered a re-run in 8 polling units in Nnewi North LGA. But the APGA candidate, in his reaction, he is still studying the judgement, and will possibly appeal the rulling.

He said, “I am aware of the tribunal judgement on our mandate, and the call for a re-run in 8 polling units in Nnewi North LGA. But there is no course for alarm. We’re studying the judgement, and will possibly appeal the rulling within the stipulated time.”
