The corpse of an unidentified suspected transformer vandal has been found, in Amawbia town, Anambra State.
Residents who found the body close to a vandalised transformer in front of a hotel believe the man might have been electrocuted while trying to vandalise the transformer in the area.
According to a source: “We found the corpse in the morning. We also discovered that our transformer was vandalised and some of the installation cables were missing. So, we are suspecting that he is a member of a gang that soecialised on vandalising transformers.
“May be he was electrocuted in the process and his gang abandoned him and ran away with our cables. I can only remember that Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) restored power in our area around 12am. May be that was when it happened.”
