Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, Mr Aderemi Adeoye, said the command has flushed out criminals and arrested 30 suspects for armed robbery and kidnapping: “Our tactical team went after the hoodlums, preventing them from striking.
“We dealt with the hoodlums on the Ugo-Ezinifite Expressway, recovering stolen vehicle and some dangerous weapons. The hoodlums were forced to abandon their vehicle.
“Operatives at Neni in Anaocha LGA intercepted a gang of armed robbers that specialised in snatching tricycles. The gang came from Owerri in Agu-Awka, Imo State. Five of the gang members were arrested.
“Two suspected graduates of Nnamdi Azikwe University, who alleged robbed and raped victims at the gun point at an hotel in Awka were arrested. The same gang abducted and raped a lady, when she boarded a tricycle at Ifite to Aroma. They recovered Two AK-47 rifles and magazines were recovered. We have dislodged them from their hideouts in the forest.
“I have visited all the flashpoints and redeployed tactical team to Awka-Enugu Expressway, Awka-Onitsha Expressway and Onitsha-Owerri Expressway. We arrested 10 suspects.
“I want to the people that Anambra is safe. We appreciate them for providing useful information on suspicious persons.
