Federal Government has appointed Mr. Uche Onyegbu as the Acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra, following the conclusion of Dr. Franca Nwafulugo’s tenure on February 2.
The appointment was announced on Saturday through a letter signed by Mr. Omotayo Adeyemi, the Director of Human Resources Management at the Federal Ministry of Education.
Mr. Onyegbu’s appointment comes with a wealth of experience in both administration and academia.
Prior to this role, he served as the secretary to four consecutive rectors for 17 years, demonstrating his proficiency in organizational management and leadership.
In addition to his administrative background, Onyegbu has a strong academic foundation, having transitioned to teaching after his years of service as a secretary.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), a Master of Science (M.Sc), and a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA). Furthermore, he is nearing the completion of his doctoral program, highlighting his commitment to continuous learning and academic excellence.
Beyond his educational qualifications, Mr. Onyegbu is an active member of various professional bodies, including the Nigeria Institute of Public Administrators (FNIPA), the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and the Professional Secretaries of Nigeria (FPSN), among others.
