The Labour Party candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Ven. Tochukwu Ikezue has paid a courtesy visit to the Traditional Ruler of Ogidi Kingdom, Igwe Pharm. Alex Uzo Onyido.
Ikezue, during the visit, formally presented the party’s flag to the monarch, seeking his royal blessings ahead of the forthcoming elections.
He described the flag as symbol of the Labour Party’s ideals, vision and aspirations, stressing that its honour, integrity and image must be upheld by all members and supporters.
Reaffirming his commitment to the party’s principles, the LP candidate pledged to provide purposeful representation if elected, assuring supporters that he would justify the confidence reposed in him.
The party flag bearer also commended party faithful for their dedication and sacrifices, urging them to remain united, focused and peaceful as the electioneering process gathers momentum.
He expressed optimism about the party’s prospects and reiterated his resolve to continue engaging critical stakeholders and communities across the district.
Responding, Igwe Onyido welcomed the LP delegation and commended the candidate for identifying with the grassroots.
He emphasised the importance of sustained engagement with the people and urged political actors to conduct their activities with decorum, peace and sense of responsibility in the interest of democratic development.
The visit, which attracted party faithful, supporters and community stakeholders formed part of the candidate’s grassroots mobilisation drive and consultations across the senatorial district.
A member of the delegation, Chief Anene Ezukama expressed appreciation to the traditional ruler for receiving them and for his fatherly advice.
He also thanked party supporters for their steadfast commitment and urged them to remain united in advancing the ideals and vision of the party.
