A tragic incident unfolded at the Head Bridge Market in Onitsha, Anambra State, as a stray bullet allegedly fired by members of the Anambra State task force claimed the life of a young graduate, Arinze Obunadike.
Arinze Obunadike, a political science graduate from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, was among traders who were fleeing from members of the task force who were reportedly chasing people urinating in the vicinity of the market.
Eyewitnesses recounted that during the chaos, one of the task force operatives fired shots at close range, tragically ending Arinze’s life.
According to reports from Vanguard, the victim, who had recently returned from Malaysia and had aspirations of traveling to either the United States of America or Canada, was described as an ambitious young man by family sources.
His sudden demise has left his aged mother, unaware of her son’s fate, and the community in mourning.
Eyewitnesses described the chaotic scene at the market, with traders and bystanders fleeing for safety as the confrontation escalated.
