The opposition party in Anambra State has strongly criticized Governor Soludo for his failed projects and lack of transparency. They accuse him of staging a poorly executed excuse for the flop in Okpoko by terminating a contract awarded to an unknown construction company. The opposition claims that the company is a personal one owned by a surveyor based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. They also pointed out that the governor’s promises to end insecurity, conduct local government elections, and transform Okpoko into a model city have all been unfulfilled.
They wrote:
“In what is clearly a haphazardly plotted script to hoodwink Ndi Anambra once again after the clueless ten-story hotel scope, Breaking news from Anambra State new media yesterday ridiculously informed Ndi Anambra and the general public that Gov. Soludo has just arbitrarily terminated the contract he awarded to NBHH Engineering Company to construct 9 roads in Okpoko.
“A Google search on the so-called construction company showed a surveyor’s personal company who practices his trade in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
“Take note that Gov. Soludo has been in the news recently for a variety of obnoxious reasons that include lack of transparency in his handling of the substantially increased billions he gets from the federation account as a result of subsidy removal, the killing of a youth at Ogbo ogwu market by his tax thugs, the killing of PDP state legal adviser, Barr. Oguegiofor by the unknown gunmen, the lack of any visible change in the fortunes of Okpoko since he boastfully promised he will start his Dubai/Taiwan transformation agenda from there on the assumption of office as the executive governor of Anambra State.
“In the poorly staged drama, a white actor from war-torn Ukraine was handed the role of just nodding his head to everything the governor says.
“How many times will this clueless government plan a publicity stunt and fail to execute it well before they realise that what they possess consists mainly of media carpenters with low IQ problem, a case of “you can not give what you do not have?”
“Sometime ago, they went to a borderline community at Olumbanasa that speaks more Kogi than Igbo to play the “Ride a Motorcycle” stunt that also flopped.
“Ndi Anambra are now left wondering how on earth they voted a former CBN governor and got this native doctor who wears vulture insignia- a case of what we ordered versus what we got.
“In their haste to stage this drama in order to hoodwink our people and recover some steadily declining goodwill and to provide excuse for its helplessness in providing solution to the Okpoko community and its slums.
“Gov Soludo and his handlers forgot the following:
- Okpoko Urban Renewal is a major policy thrust of Soludo’s administration, how come this same high-priority project got awarded to an unknown company and deliberately paid 50% upfront with zero supervision from the ministries saddled with that responsibility?
- Who pays 50% upfront to a contractor, not to talk of one with zero record of previous jobs done in Nigeria?
“The former CBN governor that we employed as state governor should know this more than anyone else except there is more to this than meets the eye.
Now that we have been informed that nothing is happening in Okpoko community, the implication is that Gov. Soludo has failed on virtually all his promises since he assumed office.
A RECAP OF PROMISES MADE BY GOV. SOLUDO:
- To bring an end to insecurity in Anambra and declare an end to sit at home.
VERDICT —> FAILED
- Promised to conduct local government elections within 6 months of assumption of office.
VERDICT —> FAILED
- Promised to turn Okpoko community into a model Dubai/Taiwan city.
VERDICT —> FAILED
- Promised to run a transparent government that will be fiscally responsible and to declare his assets
VERDICT —> FAILED

The implication of the failed promises coupled with Soludo’s tax terror on the poor masses is that the one-term CBN governor is destined to also become a one-term state governor of Anambra”.
