Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Political Matters, has asserted that the achievements of Governor Alex Otti of Abia state pale in comparison to those of Professor Charles Soludo during his two-year tenure as governor of Anambra state.
He pointed out the decline in infrastructure under Governor Alex Otti’s administration, highlighting specific instances such as the deterioration of sections of the Owerri and Onitsha road, despite being constructed by renowned foreign contractors. In contrast, he emphasized Governor Soludo’s dedication to bolstering local contractors and advocating for the use of goods manufactured in Anambra, showcasing a commitment to sustainable development within the state.
He said in an interview with TVC, ”Can you tell me what the governor of Abia state has done that Soludo has not done in 2 years? What we have done in Anambra state, if you put it is side by side with Abia state, you will see that Soludo has done better. What I see them showing on social media is the fact that he [Alex Otti] is using Julius Berger and I don’t mean to run down Julius Berger.
However, we have seen the roads they have also done. Like the Owerri and Onitsha road, we have seen parts of it go bad. It’s not about using a big name, it’s about achieving much with less.”
