The Ministry of Education, Anambra State has distanced itself from a certain competition tagged, “Anambra Mathematics Fiesta 2024”.
Public Relations Officer, Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, in a statement on Tuesday explained that any such competition must have the approval of State Government with no cost to the children or their parents.
He warned Principals to beware of politicians and greedy money mongers venturing into the education space to toy with lives of students and defraud parents.
The statement reads, The Ministry of Education, Anambra State, hereby disassociate completely from the program.
“Principals should beware of politicians and greedy money mongers who come into the education space to toy with the lives of our children and defraud parents.
“Any competition of this sort must be approved by the State Government as philanthropy without cost to the children or any other.
“It must be on PRO Bono, without financial burden and done for the benefit of the children and not for political propaganda or money making.
“Under no circumstances must a school principal accept anybody without due approval to enter the school and interact with our children. Please be warned accordingly.”
