The secretary of the committee, Hon. Dr. Sylvester Okeke Esquire, read the report, which revealed that landowners had agreed to allow the development of the market .

It is expected that the international market would provide a modern and conducive trading environment for businessmen and women in the area.

The market will also feature amenities such as parking spaces, security posts, and convenience facilities.

The project is expected to boost economic activities in the area and beyond, create employment opportunities, and enhance the community’s commercial status.

The market will also serve as a hub for the sale of agricultural produce, handicrafts, and other locally made products.

The committee’s report was adopted as a working document, and the meeting commended the committee for its efforts.

The union also gave a mandate for further action on the project, including securing necessary approvals and mobilizing resources for its implementation.

Chief Afamefuna expressed optimism about the project’s potential to transform the community’s economy.

The Agulu People’s Union (APU) has been at the forefront of community development efforts in Agulu and its environs. The union has implemented various projects aimed at improving the quality of life for its members and the general public.

The planned international market is a testament to the union’s commitment to economic development and prosperity for all. The project is expected to be completed within a few years, pending necessary approvals and resource mobilization.

Community leaders and stakeholders have hailed the initiative, describing it as a game-changer for the region’s economy. They expressed confidence in the union’s ability to deliver the project and transform the community’s economic fortunes.

As preparations for the project gather pace, the Agulu community is eagerly anticipating the benefits that the international market will bring. With its strategic location and modern facilities, the market is poised to become a major commercial hub in Anambra State.

The meeting also discussed other community development projects, including the building of Command Secondary School Agulu, and progress of Agulu Vocational Academy, which
villages were urged to sponsor their people to study and acquire skills at the Academy so that at the end they would be self employed.
